Lec-dem at Madras Music Academy



Composer: Poornathrayee Jayaprakasha Sharma

Poornathrayee Jayaprakasha Sharma will give a lecture-demonstration on six of his compositions at Madras Music Academy on December 21.

These compositions are on six temples (Poornathrayeesha Temple, Thripunithura, Vaikom Mahadeva Temple, Sabarimala Ayyappan Temple, Guruvayur Sri Krishna Temple, Chottanikkara Devi Temple and Thriprayar Sreerama Temple).

They are all written in Sanskrit except one, in Tamil, on the Chottanikkara Temple.The first two will be sung by Sangeetha Kalanidhi T.K. Govinda Rao, the second duo by S. Sundar and the two kritis in the third session by Sangeetha Poornasri G.N. Desikan.

The lecture-demonstration at 9.30 a.m. will be held at Kasturi Srinivasan Hall on the Academy premises. The programme will be presided over by Sangeetha Kalanidhi-designate Palakkad R. Raghu.
