Vetrivaagai
(Makkal TV, Saturdays, 15.30)
The channel launches a new game show, spread over three segments, that tests the participants’ skills in observation, memory and wit.
The qualifying round has a visual to be screened for 10 seconds. The participant has to provide the Tamil equivalent for the English words used in the sequence. The winner of this round will move on to the next level, which is again a visual round. A scene or a clipping from one of the programmes being aired on the channel will be featured and questions related to that will be asked.
The participant will have to answer the questions within the time frame of 30 seconds. The correct answers will take him/her to the second round, which is based on memory.
The second and final round will have a clipping for 30 seconds showcasing innumerable objects to test the participants’ skill of observation.
The winners will get attractive gifts such as mobile phones, books, gift vouchers and so on. Hosted by Karthiga, this phone-in programme, is directed by Arun Prasad.
Dhinam Dhinam Deepavali
(Mega TV, weekdays, 21.30)
The comedy serial portrays the life of those in a joint family with a touch of humour interspersed with emotion and sentiment.
The tiff between the mother-in-law, who dominates everyone in the family, and the eldest daughter-in-law, who tries to change the rule and bring everyone under her control, gets more hilarious when the second-daughter-in-law plays her role in creating a rift between them.
The eldest son, who tries to avoid arguments between his mother and his wife, the second who leads a happy-go-carefree life, the father-in-law, who is considered a pest in the family and the third son who lives with a hope that he will get married one day or the other are the other characters that make the serial hilarious.
