Vetrivaagai on Makkal TV, Saturdays, 15.30.

The channel launches a new game show, spread over three segments, which will test the participants’ skills in observation, memory and quick-wittedness.

The qualifying round has a visual to be screened for 10 seconds. The participant has to provide the Tamil equivalent for the English words used in the sequence. The winner of this round will move on to the next level, which is again a visual round. A scene or a clipping from one of the programmes being aired on the channel will be featured and questions to that effect will be asked. The participant will have to answer the questions within 30 seconds. The correct answers will take him/her to the second round, which is based on memory. The second and final round will have a clipping for 30 seconds showcasing innumerable objects as a test for the participant’s observing skills.

The winners will get attractive gifts such as mobile phones, books, gift vouchers etc. Hosted by Karthiga, this phone-in programme, is directed by Arun Prasad.

The comedy serial portrays the life of those in a joint family with a touch of comedy interspersed with emotion and sentiment.

The tiff between the mother-in-law, who dominates everyone in the family, and the eldest daughter-in-law, who tries to change the rule and bring everyone under her control gets more hilarious when the second-daughter-in-law plays her role in creating a rift between them.

The eldest son, who tries to avoid arguments between his mother and wife, the second who leads a happy-go-lucky life, the father-in-law, who is considered a pest in the family and the third son who lives with the hope that he will get married one day or the other are the other characters that make the serial more humorous.

The cast includes Nalini, Sadhana, Arthi, ‘Oorvambu’ Lakshmi, Pandu, Kumaresan, Balaji, ‘Chaplin’ Balu and Manager Cheena.
