Veterans felicitated



honoured: Kanyakumari.

Sri Badam Apparao Gupta Memorial Trust, Kakinada, felicitated violin exponent Avasarala Kanyakumari and Nagaswaram maestro Ongole N. Rangaiah, on Dec 1, at the Suryakala Mandiram Kakinada. The trusts award comprised a gold medal, a purse of Rs. 50,0 00 and a citation.

Felicitating the awardees, the chief guest of the evening, vidwan Nedunuri Krishna Murthy, spoke of the excellence the two have achieved in their disciplines. The trust was established in 2002 by Badam Madhava Rao, son of the late Badam Apparao Guptha Bhagavathar. Madhava Rao, after a long stint with Infosys, has taken to social service. A patron of arts, he established the Abhuydaya

Foundation. The function was followed by the concerts of Kanyakumari and Ongole Rangayya.
