Mind games and a love story

M.L. NARASIMHAM

Vinayak’s Krishna, starring Raviteja and Trisha, will release this Sankranti.

Grand show Raviteja and Trisha

Sometimes, a few talented people coming together is enough to stir up expecations. The shoot for Lakshmi Narasimha Visuals, Krishna progressed without much hype till the producers held a press conference to announce the title and to release the film’s music. Nevertheless, the film generated enough curiosity as it had successful names backing it.

Film-maker V.V. Vinayak’s previous film Lakshmee was a super hit. Raviteja’s Dubai Seenu did well last year and the film’s presenter D.V.V. Danayya produced the 2007 blockbuster, Desamuduru. When the trio comes together for a film, naturally one expects a grand show at the marquee. “Unlimited entertainment is guaranteed,” smiles the unassuming Vinayak, supervising the final mixing work at Prasad Labs.

“I am doing this film for my close friend (producer B. Kasi Viswanatham). Danayya agreed to be a partner when I approached him. Raviteja and I are good friends, and we spent quite some time to find the right script to work together. An action-based love story (written by Akula Siva) set in Vijayawada, it keeps pace with Raviteja’s energetic body language. Trisha is the heroine,” disclosed Vinayak. Shayaji Shinde plays an important role and the cinematography is by Chota K. Naidu.

‘The power of Indrakeeladri’ is the tagline for the film. “The tagline states the protagonist’s power play to win the game and gain the hand of his love. Though there are action sequences, the hero relies more on mind games to outdo his opponents that allure the audience. As per the dictates of the script, we shot extensively in Vijayawada and its surrounding,” says the director.

In the next scene, a duet shot on Raviteja and Trisha is projected on the screen. “After Lakshmee people started telling me that my films also have good music. Chakri has given excellent tunes for Chandra Bose’s lyrics. We shot some of the songs in scenic locations abroad,” he adds.

Chakri has always come up with hit music for Raviteja starrers. And this is his first assignment with Vinayak.

Earlier, during the audio release function, he said that the director got the best out of him. “I really worked hard for the film. I am confident of its success,” he said. As the ‘D’ day for the film’s release is fast approaching, the post-production work is on at a brisk pace. Slated for a Sankranti release, the film has Chandra Mohan, Pradeep Rawat, Brahmanandam, Venumadhav, Sunil, Uthej, Chitram Srinu, Sudha and Sana in key roles.
