Marquee Moves

Mallika does a Madhubala

Mallika Sherawat is no competion to yesteryear actress Madhubala. But Mallika will be stepping into Madhubala’s shoes for her new film Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam. The comedy also stars Rahul Bose and Mallika will feature in the song Pyar kiya to darna kya.

Wait, this isn’t a remix of the evergreen melody but has been given a different tune by Anu Malik and has lyrics by Sanjay Chhel. Apparently, the song is a spoof with many a funny line thrown in.

Kareena turns fashion wise

Kareena Kapoor has been appreciated both for her high-volage performance and her stylish clothes in Jab We Met. The actress now wants to take on the additional responsibility of designing clothes. No, she’s not going to do it for her movies but for a retail brand. She will soon be out with her line of clothing and will join the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Victoria Beckham who have been designing their own line of clothing.

Maximum risk for Saif

Saif Ali Khan has turnedaction king for his forthcoming film Race. Saif refrained from using body doubles for doing dangerous stunts. The film is being directed by Abbas-Mustan and requires the actors to feature in a series of dare-devil acts. In one of the scenes, Saif had to jump down from a 22-storied building. For this, Saif was tied to a harness and gave the unit a few breathless moments when he jumped off the building. He had to do the act thrice until the scene was okayed and the gathering heaved a sigh of relief.

The ‘Bheja Fry’ gang is back

Ranvir Shorey, Vinay Pathak and Rajat Kapoor who entertained us in Bheja Fry, has ganged up again for Mithya. This film is directed by Rajat Kapoor, also stars Naseeruddin Shah and Neha Dhupia apart from Ranvir and Vinay and will release on February 8.

The comic thriller will see the unusual pairing of Ranvir and Neha Dhupia. Set against the Mumbai gangland, Mithya is, an entertaining thriller. Rajat Kapoor is confident that his most ambitious project to date will strike a chord with the audience.
