Off beat story Uday Kiran and Kruthi starrer ‘Number 10’ is a delicately balanced story.
Amidst the row of houses behind Apollo Hospitals in Jubilee Hills, thanks to the outdoor unit van parked in an alley and the 300-meter long cable from the generator van, we could locate the house where the shooting of Sri Venkataramana Films Production Number 10 is taking place.
From the exterior, it looked like an upper middle class house. The reflectors and the mini crane with the camera crew helmed by Ramesh Krishna occupied a large chunk of place in the drawing room while the rest is declared was the field area. A unit hand requests us to wait till the shot is taken. An intoned voice shouts, ‘start camera action’. It is the debut director K.R.K., an erstwhile assistant to Raviraja Pinisetty.
Once we stepped into the drawing room, we spotted Chalapathi Rao. Clad in a casual tee and shorts, he looked like he was just back after a jog. Clad in a silk sari, Sudha was elegant as ever. Kruthi in a chiffon sari looked confident while Uday Kiran was seen in conversation with the debutant villain Sudhesh Berry. Chitram Srinu is also taking part in today’s shoot. The director is weary of revealing the scene. All he says with a gentle smile is “this is a key scene.” The director tells us that his hero took the initiative, being impressed by the script, to make this film a possibility by talking to its presenter Medikonda Muralikrishna and producer Amarchand. K.R.K informs us that the film is an emotional love story. “The story has scope for different kinds of emotions but never goes overboard. The different emotions in this love story are delicately balanced. I believe that film-making is team work and you will see that in our project as well,” he smiles.
He then talks about his leading lady, Kruthi from Delhi. “She has done a Hindi film before and this is her first film in the South. She plays a college student. Uday’s role is the surprise part so I can not reveal it at this juncture. Anil Krishna composed good music for the six situational songs. It is a fantastic album.”
Since the story demanded a hill backdrop, we shot the first schedule at Ooty. “It is an offbeat love story within the commercial realm and my director has succeeded in extracting the best from his actors. Uday’s body language and style are different this time; Kruthi too has a well crafted role. The film’s music, action, comedy and emotions are all interwoven well by K.R.K,” chips in Muralikrishna. “With Narasimha Naidu we introduced Mukesh Rishi to Telugu films and now Sudhesh Berry makes his debut in the South. We will announce the title soon,” he said. The film is expected to release in March.
