Don’t miss Sunday concert
|
Just as the budding talent promotion festival of music gets to a close at Gayana Samaja tomorrow (June 21), the curtains are not yet down, with the 18-year-old Ramakrishnan Murthy is all set to take the dais for regaling Bangaloreans in his three-hour Carnatic vocal concert on June 22.
The promising singer is studying at the University of California and is being trained in music under Delhi P. Sunderarajan and C.R.Vaidyanathan.
Ramakrishnan has flagged off his talent with several major music sabhas in Chennai and has also been a regular at the Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhane concerts and has won the Indian American Heritage Foundation Award and the Maharajapuram Viswanatha Iyer Award. He bagged the I Prize at AIR’s Carnatic Devotional Competition in 2007. “The little boy has big talent and Gayana Samaja thought a three-hour concert would be encouraging,” said S.R. Sitharam, Secretary.
