Kondepudi Subbarao organised a threeday conference on Telugu literature from last Friday in Sankaramatham. V. Balamohanadas inaugurated it stressing the need for laying emphasis on the use of Telugu in all aspects of life. Kondepudi in his keynote address pleaded for making everyone aware of the glory achieved by Telugu literature. The first session concluded with a recital of Telugu poems on the Navarasas by nine eminent poets.
Next day witnessed speeches on Andhra Sahitya Vikasam by Salaka Raghunatha Sarma and K. Malayavasini who chaired the session. While Sarma stressed the need to trace the history of the flourish of the Telugu literature before Nannaya for which he started collecting some data, Rajeswari Sankaran elaborated on the character of Narada Maharshi. It concluded on the third day with an antiphonal rendering of many a poem on freedom movement by eminent poets of the yesteryears. Earlier, there were interesting lectures on Madhurabhakti by Nidamarthi Nirmala, Satakavaangmayam by K. Kotarao, Navyaandhra Vyaakaranam by Chinta Onkara Sarma and Padyasilpam in Prabandha Kaavyas by Puvvada Tikkana Somayaji.
