Novel attempt: Oliyizhandha Kanninaai Va Va Va
On the theme of ‘Oliyizhandha Kanninaai Va Va Va,’ the creators were quite frank. “The play has a different theme that received mixed response. Not all appreciated the novelty infused in it,” said N.Jambunathan, secretary, Ti

But those who appreciated were all praise for the performances of the actors.
The drama, played at Rasika Ranjana Sabha in association with the Department of Art and Culture and the South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur, unfolds the life of a person who loses his vision accidentally and agonises over his loss. He is persuaded to join a club of similar people who have lost their vision through accidents.
The story deals with how these new members are cheered and groomed to face life with confidence.
‘Mukundan’ (Jagdeesh), as one of the visually challenged in the club, cast a spell on the audience through his pain-staking efforts to offer a convincing performance.
The sober plot does not fail to include humour. For instance, the welcome party given to the new members which is full of fun. As a ray of hope for the visually challenged, the drama ends with a new member walking into the club, guided by fellow members.
