Miley Cyrus, who stars in Disney’s “Hannah Montana” as the lead character Miley Stewart, whose alter ego is the pop music sensation “Hannah Montana” playing two different roles:
Is it easy or difficult to play two different roles and how do you change the colour of your hair?
Well, I wear a blonde wig and it’s kind of hard. Like the boyfriend episode, where he wants to take me to a Hannah Montana concert because he tells Miley Stewart he doesn’t like her and she stinks. So I’m like I’m telling him, “No, she’s awesome. You need to go see her. Buy her CD,” all these great things. And he comes up just to surprise me and says, “Oh my goodness, I’m going to take you to a Hannah Montana concert.” And I can’t say no because I’ve just told him that’s my favourite singer. So I’m there and Lilly and Oliver are there too trying to distract him, when I try to escape to get stage on and run back there.
So it’s kind of hard, because I’ll be in the middle of the scene and I’m like, “Who am I? Who am I supposed to be? Who was thinking what?” And sometimes that’s kind of crazy.
It’s really fun because, I mean, that’s kind of what it would be like in real life. Everyone would be like, “This is kind of creepy,” with two people in the same situation. So that shows the reality what Hannah Montana goes through.
What’s the best thing about working with your dad?
The best thing you know, is sharing this journey with my dad and every day just getting to hang out with my best friend and be with my dad all day. It’s a lot of fun.
Who are your favourite pop stars and what music do you listen to at home?
I listen to Kelly Clarkson and there are a lot of undiscovered bands in Nashville. My sister is going to school to be a photographer, so she goes with all these bands and takes pictures of their concerts. Who gets the best fan mail, Miley Cyrus, Miley Stewart or Hannah Montana?
Like, there’s a picture someone will send to Miley Cyrus of Hannah Montana, and like a letter I just got one that was like, “Can you give this to Hannah Montana for me?”
So I was, like, “Huh, okay. I’ll do that.” But yeah, Miley Cyrus gets a lot of mails, but then again, Hannah Montana gets a lot of comments about her songs and stuff. So it’s kind of equal.
