The Wong Kar Wai film festival begins in Bangalore tomorrow

Nani Cinematheque is launching Directors’ Series on August 1, 2008 in collaboration with Palador.

Palador began four years ago to kickstart the tradition of great cinema in the Indian subcontinent. Today, Palador has the largest collection of Foreign Language Cinema under one roof in Asia.

Palador owns the most number of award-winning films from the greatest directors the world has ever seen – Kurosawa to Kieslowski, Godard, Trauffaut, Kiarostami to Lynch and many others. They have cinema in all genres: action, comedy, drama, documentary, short films etc and films from all movements Italian Neo-Realism, French Impressionism, New-Wave Iranian etc. T

Palador also suits the needs of TV channels, Film Festivals, Corporates, Colleges, Clubs, Theatres etc.

Besides, Palador was the first to focus on the short works of aspiring film makers, helping to popularise the concept and adoption of short film in the Indian media landscape.

The Wong Kar Wai Film Festival in association with Palador begins on August 1, 6 p.m. at the CFD premises, V floor, Sona Towers, 71 Millers Road, Bangalore.

There is a film that is directed by Christopher Doyle highly reminiscent of Wang Kar Wai.

On August 1, Fallen Angels, 6. 30 p.m, August 2 it is “Away With Words” 5.30 p.m. and Happy Together at 7. 30 p.m.

On Sunday August 3, “In The Mood For Love” 5.30 p.m. and Chungking Express, 7.30 p.m.

There are screenings at Suchitra Film Society on August 2 and 3, beginning 3.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. respectively.
