Historic performance

Full version: Margi Madhu will stage ‘Asokavanikaangam.’

For the first time in the history of Koodiyattam, the complete ‘Asokavanikaangam,’ the fifth act of Shakibhadra’s ‘Ascharyachoodamani’ will be performed outside the precincts of a temple. Even inside the koothambalams of temples, the full version of ‘Asokavanikaangam’ has been performed only three times.

This historic performance will be by Margi Madhu and artistes of Nepathya at the newly constructed koothambalam at Moozhikulam, from August 18 to September 1.

The koothamambalam will be inaugurated by Kavalam Narayana Panicker on August 18.
