A six-pack dad?

COMPILED BY SANGEETHA DEVI DUNDOO

The six-pack fever is yet to subside in Indian films. After Aamir Khan in Ghajini it will be Mithun Chakraborty in Veer.

The veteran will be seen as Salman Khan’s dad and wanted to show off a toned body to fit the part of Salman Khan’s father.

He was inspired by Salman and hit the gym. Mithun da and Salman have worked together in Heroes (though they didn’t share the same frame) and in Yuvvraaj, but this one, they feel, is differ

Veer is a period film inspired by a real-life love story.

Taking on the world

Yash Raj Films has gone through troubled times in the last couple of years having delivered very few hits. The production house has its fingers crossed over Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and expect the SRK-Aditya Chopra magic to work. They’ve refrained from a publicity overdrive but are gearing up for a never-before worldwide release, across the USA, the UK and Europe. Aditya Chopra has also barred newcomer Anushka Sharma from talking to the press for now.

Million buck story!

Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire is making all the right noises and getting critical and popular acclaim globally.

The endearing underdog story of a slum boy turning millionaire has warmed many hearts.

The film that won the People’s Choice Award in Toronto and had its pride of place at the London Film Festival will open in Indian cinemas in January.

Watch out for Dev Patel who stuns Anil Kapoor in the final round of Who Wants to Be A Millionaire? in the film.

Another song, another hit?

Emraan Hashmi is hoping his luck of having hit songs will continue with his next, Raaz – The Mystery Continues.

The makers of the film have unveiled the first song Mahi Ve, sung by Toshi, and hope the haunting melody will make its way to the top of the charts.

Raaz will bring back Kangana Ranaut and Emraan together after Gangster.
