A book on sugama sangeeta singer, Shimoga Subbanna
To celebrate the 70th birthday of the noted Kannada singer Shimoga Subbanna, Sundara Prakashana has published the book “Gowravanvitha Gaayaka, Dr. Shimoga Subbanna”. The book, edited by Gowri Sundar, will be released on January 5 at Ravindra Kalakshetra, 6 p.m.
Subbanna is the first Kannada singer who won the National Award for his playback singing for the film, “Kaadu Kudre”. He has also sung songs of Kannada poetry by poets like Kuvempu, Bendre, Shishunaala Sharifa in his own, inimitable style.
The book release function will be attended by Shivamurthy Murughasharana of Chitradurga and Dr. Dilip Rangaraajan, Dr. Bhujanga Shetty and Manu Baligar to name a few.
Other books to be released are “Badukoorina Daariyalli” by Arjuna Koratakara, “Aaayda Aravathu Kavithegalu” by Ravi Upadhya and “Baro Baro Basavanna” by Ho. Na. Sathya.
There will be a light music programme by Upasana Mohan and party after the book release.
