Best Citizen Journalist

It’s down to the final five on Amrita TV’s Best Citizen Journalist-2. A news based reality show, the programme is designed to unearth and mould citizen journalists who are not professional newsmen, but who nevertheless have a nose for news.

The second edition of the show was launched in October with 15 contestants who followed leads and tried to discover hitherto untold stories. The participants had to get through five tough rounds to reach the final.

This week’s show is a prelude to the finale, when the finalists will be re-introduced to the viewers who have been closely following the trail of the citizen journalists. Every day one competitor will be profiled in detail and a recap of his/her best reports will be aired again.

The finale will have three competitive rounds, in which each contestant will have to submit two stories each; the third will be a spot presentation on a topic that will be given on stage by the judges.

The grand finale of the Best Citizen Journalist-2 will be telecast on February 21.

Sakhi

Amrita TV’s ‘Sakhi’ is back with a bang and with a whole new look. The half-an-hour show is now an hour-long session.

Shoots in outdoor locales, phone-ins and live interviews are a part of the revamped show.

A woman’s talk show, ‘Sakhi’ deals with topics that touches the everyday life of women: from health, beauty , fashion and travel to education and parenting skills.

Anchored by Geeta Bakshi, the show has guests from all walks of life. So, apart from celebrities there are experts on a particular subject or ordinary women, who are a source of inspiration, sharing their thoughts and opinions. ‘Sakhi’ is telecast at 12 noon, Monday to Thursday.
