Directed by Sreekumaran Thampi, Coimbatore Ammayi revolves around a family headed by Karunakaran, an avowed bachelor, who is a miser.

His ‘family,’ which consists of four younger step siblings, look forward to his death, so that they can inherit his money.

However, upon his death, they discover that he has a wife, Visalakshi from Coimbatore (Coimbatore Ammayi). Coimbatore Ammayi divides his inheritance between his relatives.

However greed takes over and how Coimbatore Ammayi steps in to save the day forms the rest of the story. Sukumari, V.K. Sreeraman, Vanitha Krishnachandran and Yedukrishnan are part of the cast.
