SPIC MACAY’s national convention from May 24 to May 29 in the capital city.

Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Among Youth (SPIC MACAY) conducts its national convention from May 24 to May 29 at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram.
The convention has been dedicated to Guru Ammanur M. Chakyar this year.
May 24
The convention starts with performances by Pandit Shivkumar Sharma (santoor) and Kalamandalam Raman Kutty Nair and Kalamandalam Gopi (Kathakali) at 7 p.m.
May 25
Carnatic vocalist T.N. Seshagopalan’s recital at 7.00 p.m. will be followed by Koodiyattom performance by Kapila Venu.
May 26
Rajshekhar Mansur’s Hindustani music concert at 7 p.m. will be followed by a Carnatic flute concert by N. Ramani.
May 27
Sitar concert by Ustad Shahid Parvez at 7 p.m. This will be followed by a Dhrupad vocal by Ustad R. Fahimuddin Dagar.
May 28
The convention comes to an end with performances by Pandit Birju Maharaj (Kathak), T.V. Shankarnarayanan (Carnatic vocal), Ustad Asad Ali Khan (Rudra veenda), Ronu Majumdar (flute) and Ustad Abdul Rashid Khan (Hindustani vocal).
