Fascinated with Bond

Vishal Bharadwaj hopes to make another film based on a story by Ruskin Bond.

award winner: ‘The Blue Umbrella.’

Looks like acclaimed children’s writer Ruskin Bond has quite a fan in director Vishal Bharadwaj. The director’s whimsical cinematic take on Bond’s novella for kids, ‘The Blue Umbrella,’ went on to win the National Award in 2007. Now, Bharadwaj hopes to work on another Bond story, but with a difference.

Says the author: “He asked me to write a story for him and he liked it. It’s not a children’s story though; it’s a black comedy, and he plans to make a movie of it.”

Of course, whether or not the project will get the go ahead depends on financing and such. Here’s hoping this one sees the light of day.
