Brahmotsavam at Perambur temple
Sri Venkatesa Perumal Temple, Perambur, is celebrating Brahmotsavam from June 13 (tomorrow) to June 22.
The rituals begin with thirumanjanam at 8 a.m., on June 13. Yagasalai Pravesam and Simhavahanam are part of the events that evening.
Seva Kaalam is at 11 a.m. on June 14, followed by Hamsavahanam at 6 p.m. The highlight of the rituals on June 15 is Garuda Sevai at 6 p.m.
On June 16, the daily thirumanjanam at 10 and the Seva Kaalam at 11 comprise the religious happenings of the morning.
Hanumantha Vahanam has been organised for the evening.
On June 17, besides the Sadhusthana puja performed on all days of the brahmotsavam, devotees can have a special darshan of the Mohini Alankaram of the Lord at 6 p.m. Yaanai Vahanam will take place on June 18. The next will be the day of Thiruthaer or temple car, which will begin moving at 8 a.m. Kudhirai Vahanam Vedupari (June 20, 6 p.m.), Theerthavaari (June 21, 11 a.m.) and Sapthavaranam (June 22, 5 p.m.) are among the other rituals that will take place.
The daily expense for the festival is Rs. 28,000 approximately.
