'Quick Gun Murugan' wows Macau

COLOUR FIX Rajendra Prasad with Abhishek and Aishwarya.
The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards festival was held on June 13 in Macau, China. Telugu actor Rajendra Prasad received a rare honour at this year’s IIFA festival by being invited to walk the green carpet. Normally a red carpet is used to welcome dignitaries at such festivals.
But to create awareness on global warming a green carpet was laid at the IIFA. Rajendra Prasad walked the green carpet as a guest for promoting vegetarianism through his movie Quick Gun Murugan, an English film directed by Sashank Ghosh. Rajendra Prasad, who sported the Murugan get up from the film, was the centre of attraction at the IIFA.
Oscar Award winner Resul Pookutty introduced him to the audience as a veteran actor from South India.
IIFA ambassador Amithabh Bachchan along with Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan spoke to Rajendra Prasad and enquired about his role and the film. Amitabh had a word of appreciation for the ace comedy hero.
“I felt thrilled at the invitation. There were many stalwarts from the film industry at the function and naturally I was doubly thrilled when chosen for the green carpet entry,” said Rajendra Prasad. Quick Gun Murugan will have its world wide release soon through Fox Star Studios.
