Sri Suyateendra Tirtha Swami, chief of Sri Raghavendra Swami Mutt, Mantralayam, honouring the Vedic Scholar to mark the Sri Vijayeendra Theertharu Aradhana Mahotsavam in Kumbakonam Mutt in Thanjavur. 108 Vedic Scholars were honoured with Rs 1000 and certificate. B.N. Ravichandran, vice president, ING Vysya Bank, and Rama Ramanathan former MLA, Kumbakonam, also participated in the occasion.
The aradhana of Sri Vijayeendra Theertharu, paramaguru of Sri Raghavendra Swamigal of Mantralaya, is held every year at Sri Vijayeendra Theertharu Moola Brindavana at Kumbakonam.
This year it was held for three days from June 20-22. Sri 1008 Suyateendra Theertha Swamiji, chief of Sri Raghavendra Mutt participated and conducted pujas to Moola Ramar and Vijayeendra Theertharu brindavana (samadhi). The highlight of the three-day aradhana was honouring of 108 pandits and scholars from various sects. They were presented with certificates and cash awards.
Thousands of devotees participated on all the three days, and 108 workers below the poverty line were given financial assistance.
