Sri Bhaskaracharya Memorial Foundation and Sri Lalitha Sahasranama Sahasra Suvasini Puja Samiti is organising the grihapravesam of Akshara Matruka maha Mandapam, Annapurna Annakkoodam and thithinitya complex at Bhaskararajapuram, Tiruvalangadu, Mayiladuturai, on August 2. Philanthropists and devotees are pitching in with material help and physical labour to get the projects completed on time. Also planned on August 2 and 3 are 108 ‘Go’ puja, dasavidha sahasranama ekadina laksharchana, Deepalakshmi puja, Ashtapadi, Radha Kalyanam and Trisati Suvasini Puja. The events are conducted under the supervision of K. Anantharama Sastrigal (Mohan Guruji), founder of Sri Bhaskaracharya Bhakta Samajam.
The Matruka Mandapam, actually, is an extension of the Bhaskaracharya Memorial opened in 2004.

Remembering a vidwan
Nada Inbam pays homage to Vidwan A. Sundaresan on July 7 and 8, at Raga Sudha hall, 85/2, Luz Avenue, Mylapore (Ph: 24992672). Sundaresan’s disciples — Gayathri Venkatraghavan, Vasumathi Desikan and Savitha Sriram — will present rare kritis of the Trinity, as a group, on July 7, 5.45 p.m. ‘Asthika Samajam’ Narasimhan and Mannargudi Easwaran will pay tribute to Sundaresan (6.15 p.m.) Concerts have been organised on both the days.
Sri Guru Padhuka Bajan Mandali, run by Sri Guru Padhuka Seva Trust, (Ph: 93810 27288/98410 12779), will present a three-day veda namasankirtanam from July 3 to 5, 6 to 9 p.m. at Asthika Samajam, Venus Colony, Alwarpet. A special feature of the programme is that namasankirthanam will be rendered in three different styles and the meaning of the Vedas explained. The programme is being organised under the auspices of Vedic Sangeetha Foundation.
Ravi Kashyap will present a religious discourse, ‘Srimad Bagavatam’ from July 4 to 10, between 7 and 9 p.m., at Sri Suprabhata Sabha, (Ph: 2480 0440), 10/6, Second Lane, Baroda Street, West Mambalam. The event is being organised by Global Organisation for Divinity India Trust.
Nadopasana Music Trust has organised a series of music concerts and discourse as part of its 41st anniversary to be held at Sri Dakshinamurthy Auditorium, P.S.H.S. School, R.K. Mutt Road, Mylapore. The five-day event concludes on July 7, 6.30 p.m., with Udayalur Kalyanarama Bhagavatar’s discourse.
