Kerala Day celebrations

Asianet’s menu for the day includes their routine programmes such as ‘Hit Bazaar’ at 09.05, which has news about tinsel world, the musical countdown show ‘To Five’ at 09.30 and an interview with Roma in ‘Tharavishesham’ at 10.00. Srikantan Nair’s rendezvous with Jagathy Srikumar (‘Ambilikillukam’) is at 10.30. Sathyan Anthikkad’s ‘Achuvente Amma’ and the Mohanlal-starrer ‘Alibhai’ will be telecast at 11.00 and 15.30 respectively.

An interview with O.N.V. Kurup is the special that marks Keralappiravi on the channel. In his interaction with students of University College, Thiruvananthapuram, the poet talks about the concepts of modern poetry, his travelogue, his family and thoughts on the condition of Indian regional languages and more.

The programme that has been divided into four episodes will be telecast at 12.30 and 21.00 on November 1, November 2, November 3 and November 4.

This mega-serial completes its 50th episode this week.

The main protagonists of the serial are Chemberi Pappan, the autocratic patriarch of the Chemberi family and Uttara, who is a maid in her own house.

Scripted by Dinesh Pallathum and directed by Faisal Adimali, the serial stars Srikala as Uttara and Jayan in a double role as Pappan and his son.

Anu Alavum Bayamillai Season 2

(Vijay TV, Friday and Saturday, 21.00)

The second season will see seven contestants — Neelima Rani, Tinky, Mahalakshmi, Priyadarshini, Preetha, Vandhana and Sneha Nambiyar — vie for the top honours.

And there’s a new host as well — the charming Lakshmi Rai. The tasks will be more daring and innovative compared to Season 1 and will be monitored by a panel of experts.

This new serial revolves round Rajagopal, a status-conscious industrialist, and his sister Ranjani, who is service oriented. Ranjani faces many problems in her life and Rajagopal’s daughter Malavika and Ranjani’s son Vijay play a major role in helping her overcoming them.

The cast includes T.P. Prabhakar, Kalpana Sri, Sridevi, Prithvi, Shanthi Ganesh, Shanthi Anand and Bala Murugan. The story is by Karaikkudi Narayanan.

Screenplay and direction are by N. Jayanthi.



SALIM LANGDE PE MAT RO on Victers Channel, Saturday, 20,30

Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro

Salim Langda (Pavan Malhotra) is a local thug who makes a living taking hafta from local shopkeepers and also robbing godowns with the help of his two companions Peera (Makrand Deshpande) and Abdul (Ashutosh Gowarikar).

A talk with Aslam (Rajendra Gupta), his brother’s friend, brings about a change of heart in Salim. He starts questioning his line of work and decides to quit. He succeeds in doing so only to be dragged in once again. The film won the 1990 National Film Award for Best Cinematography. A repeat telecast of this movie is on Sunday at 09.30.
