Customised!

News X has become India’s first English news channel to be available on mobile phones. The mobile URL for accessing live feeds by NewsX is m.newsx.com/live. Ajatshatru Singh, Head of Online, NewsX says, “We also plan to create customised news content for the mobile.” Just last month, NewsX became India’s first English news channel to offer web surfers high-quality online live streaming on its website. While every news channel offers live streaming, NewsX is said to be different because of the high quality of its live feed. Its website offers almost no buffering, so users don’t have to suffer long wait times for the live stream to get activated.

Migrating to a new turf

Of late city opulence is giving way to rustic charm and small town dreams on the small screen. Milking the mood, Star Plus has launched “Tere Mere Sapne”, which depicts the journey of a migrant, who has stepped into a challenging city milieu. The story starts from a remote village in North India where the protagonist is caught in the web of family debts. When he ventures into the big city he faces the emotional turmoil of being a migrant. Dramatising current affairs!

Lavish touch

Meanwhile, Zee continues to give grandeur a chance. After the success of “12/24 Karol Bagh”, the channel has launched “Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli”. Produced by Rajshri Productions, the series is said to have lavish sets, return of senior actors and a beautiful musical score with Shreya Ghoshal lending her voice to the title song. It happens to be Barjatyas’ first association with the channel. As for the story, it is the good old tale of family relationships and the strength to stand by each other in difficult times.

Go online!

Veteran television personalities Raman Kumar (who gave us films like “Saath Saath” and serials like “Tara”) and Khalid Hashmi (of Zee News fame) and ibibo.com have come together to provide a unique chance for aspiring actors, actresses, directors and scriptwriters to appear in what is promoted as India’s first online serial.

Depending on the talent, one can write it, direct it or act in it. The serial will have 24 webisodes of five minutes each to showcase the talent, and ibibo will upload the webisodes one by one every third or fourth day on ibibo.com.
