CD\CASSETTE ON SHELF

AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI

Tips

Pritam is consistently delivering tunes which are catchy and fit the commercial trappings. This one is no different. It starts with the breezy "Main Tera Dhadkan Teri" suitably rendered by KK, Sunidhi Chauhan and Hard Kaur. It is followed "Tu Jaane Na" by Atif Aslam. The song rests easy on the lips but Atif has begun to sound predictable. The other two versions - particularly the one sung by Kailash Kher, Paresh and Naresh - of the song are much more appealing. However, Atif excels in the company of Alisha Chinoy in "Tera Hone Laga Hoon" which has the required cuteness that Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are expected to exude on the screen.

"Oh By God" is the typical Sunidhi Chauhan number with Mika lending his boisterous appeal to it. The mix of shehnai and bhangra is an interesting experiment. An invitation to let your hair down on the dance floor. "Prem Ki Naiyya" by Neeraj Sridhar is an average effort. Pritam impresses with his musical arrangement in "Aa Jao Meri Tamanna" rendered by Javed Ali and Jojo. "Follow Me" has Hard Kaur in form. Lots of sound, little meaning!

Pritam's tunes have an addictive quality that won't hold you for years but you don't mind them for a few weeks. Perhaps that's what the producers want.
