Workshop for dancers

Prakriti Foundation is organising a three and a half day Butoh body movement workshop by Atsushi Takenouchi and Hiroko Komiya, from February 12, at Chandralekha’s Space, 1, Elliot’s Beach Road, Besant Nagar.

The workshop is aimed at dance/ body work practitioners.

Butoh, now recognised as an international art form, is a contemporary avant-garde dance form which originated in post-war Japan.

It rejects Eastern and Western dance conventions, expressing intense emotions through slow, controlled, and sometimes distorted movements. It combines dance, theatre, improvisation and elements of Japanese traditional performing arts.
