Mother and daughter enthral
As part of the silver jubilee celebrations this year, Lasya Priya organised a Kuchipudi dance by mother-daughter duo Swarnabala and Anahita Bharadwaj, disciples of Uma Rama Rao, Director Lasya Priya at Ravindra Bharati recently.
They presented Nritya Manjari — a Kuchipudi dance expression to a bunch of lyrical gems of eight different composers. Anahita began with Ganapati Stuti Pranavaakaram by Oottugadu Venkatabussaiyer followed by King Shahaji's Koluvai unnaade, Siddhendra Yogi's Bhama Kalapam Bhamane. Her mother presented Mahadeva Shambho's Rajarajeswari and Annamacharya's Ade chudare. Lastly, both the artistes performed Narayana teertha's Nanda nandana gopala under the direction, choreography and nattuvangam of K. Uma Rama Rao. Vocal support was given by Swetha Prasad, mridangam by Nageswara Rao, flute by Dattatreya, veena by Phani Narayana and make-up by Surabhi Kesavaramu.
