THE LATEST and some of the trendiest products from the interior design, furniture and furnishings, building and construction industries are on display during the four-day Inside Outside Mega Show that got under way at Pragati Maidan here from December 18.

The show, being organised by Business India Exhibitions and interior design magazine, Inside Outside, is witnessing participation of nearly 200 companies who expect to generate business among a large number of architects, designers, decorators, builders, government officials, town planners, representatives of municipal bodies, civil engineers, exporters and businessmen.

To boost business, around 8,000 invitations have been sent out by the organisers to important people in the design and decoration industry who might find the event of special interest. And to provide wider knowledge about the event, the organisers have also brought out an exhibitor's directory that provides a detailed alphabetical list of exhibitors, hall-wise list of exhibitors and exhibit descriptions to provide visitors a direct access to the exhibitors and their products.

Inaugurated by the celebrated painter, sculptor and architect, Satish Gujral, on Wednesday, the show provides ordinary visitors access to some of the latest products and help them make informed decisions as to their design and decoration needs.

During the event, the exhibitors will also be presented "Best Display Awards" and "Popular Choice Awards". And already Dhruv Gupta has been declared the winner of "Designer of the Year" under the "Restaurant" theme for his pub-cum-restaurant in the Capital.

The exhibition also has informative lecture sessions where leading architects and designers are making presentations on various topics. While so far these have featured architects Amardeep Singh, Jasbir Sawhney and Sonali Bhagwati and interior designer Raseel Gujral, on December 20 architect Revathy Kamath and N.Vasant of M/s Environs are due to chair the sessions. These are aimed at helping people choose from a variety of items ranging from bathroom fittings to floor furnishings, to laminates, veneers, wood coatings, furniture, furniture accessories, electrical switches and designer bed linen that are on display.
