Love tunes on mobile phones
WHEN MOBILE phones first came in, they were seen as luxury. But today mobile phones are being used for more than just calling.
Vying with each other, each cellular operator is keen to offer more value-added service. To coincide with the Valentines' Day, the BPL Mobile has rolled out the service, `dial a song'.
The subscriber, both prepaid and postpaid, has to dial 789 on his BPL mobile to dedicate, request or listen to a song, and the songs could be sent to any landline or mobile phone across the world, says the Chief Operating Officer, Ishwar Kumar. The subscribers could send a 30 to 45-second song clip along with a personalised message by following a simple IVRS (interactive voice response system) prompter, after dialling.
On its part, the Airtel has come out with a number of services to listen to Valentine's Day music. The Airtel subscribers would have to dial 64633 and 64638 for music in English and Tamil.
The other services offered by Airtel include `Track ur mate' by dialling 64619. There is also a Masala portal offering you much more logos, images and tones besides music and songs for the Valentine's Day. There's even a comedy voice portal to access the jokes of S.Ve. Sekhar by dialling 64615 and 64616.
