Meghadoota in Kannada

THERE IS something to please drama lovers in the City. No, it's got nothing to do with an English language play. It is, instead, an event from the less visible but equally vibrant, regional language theatre.

"Aneka", a theatre group based in Jaraganahalli, J.P. Nagar, will stage a "post-modern" production of Kalidasa's Meghadoota in Kannada, on February 19 at the ADA Rangamandira, J.C. Road.

The group's manager, Paramesh, says the play has been adapted and directed by Suresh Anagalli. The production has been assisted by the Department of Culture, New Delhi. The performance begins at 6.30 p.m.
