War of words

In the past few days, if there is one person who has been consistently under the political spotlight, it is Rajmohan Unnithan, who has been issuing many forceful statements through television channels against the Power Minister, K. Muraleedharan.

However, the counter issued by Mr. Muraleedharan to Mr.Unnithan, that after May 13, the "Unnithans would become useless pennies," has ruffled many feathers, `Unnithan' being a caste name.

Many Unnithan families in the State reportedly got together at Mavelikara the other day to protest against Mr. Muraleedharan's sweeping statement. Media reports say that they have decided to swing votes in constituencies such as Adoor and Kollam, where Unnithan families claim to wield a lot of influence.
