Right prescription for success

Kamal Haasan, Sneha, Prakash Raj, director Saran, music director Bharadwaj ... The star line-up of Gemini Film Circuit's `Vasool Raja MBBS' sounds just the right prescription for a box-office success.

There are over half-a-dozen firsts to the Tamil remake of `Munnabhai MBBS' in Hindi, according to the production house. The crowning glory of the casting will, however, be Rohini Hattangadi, the veteran actress, who has donned several roles including that of Kasturba in Richard Attenborough's `Gandhi.'

A well-known figure on the Marathi stage, she will play the mother of Kamal in `Vasool Raja MBBS.' Nagesh acts as his father, while `Crazy' Mohan has penned the dialogues. A thrilled Rohini says: "I am happy to act in a Tamil film and that too as the mother of Kamal Haasan.

"Though I was aware of the emphasis laid on project planning in the Tamil film industry, working with Director Saran was a whole new experience. He is not only a great planner, but also a good director and executes the job in a meticulous way."

Appreciating Saran for "his hard work, sound knowledge and a style of his own," Rohini adds: "If he is able to finish a film in three months and release, it shows that he not only is a master planner, but also a cost-effective director."

Saran also takes care of the screenplay in the movie, the shooting of which began on May 14. The film is scheduled for release on August 15.
