Ajit's charitable side

EVEN GOOD deeds need some form of publicity. And film star Ajit decided to do just that by speaking about his charity work.
The actor, who called on the founder-president of Exnora International, M.B. Nirmal, to get his suggestions, Ajit has now decided to plant saplings in Thiruvanmiyur on December 26.
"I wanted to plant at least 501saplings but as tree guards will not be ready in time, I have decided to start with only 101. I had also started Mohini-Mani Foundation in my parents' name. A part of my earnings will go to this foundation which will work in the areas of education, health and environment."
The actor has also done his bit to pay the fee of underprivileged students and poor patients.
"I have an agreement with Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Hospital (Porur) where people I recommend get concessions and I pay their hospital bills. I have been doing this for the past 10 years. Now the foundation will take up these activities. Hopefully my fans will take a cue from me and begin planting saplings in other parts of the State," he said.
