Bakrid and TV

Kairali TV will celebrate Bakrid with a special four-hour programme, `Mailanji', to be telecast from 3 p.m. on January 21.

A cultural programme organised at Kozhikode will form the basis of this special programme, which will feature, among other stars, Sharon Prabhakar, Biju Narayanan and Hindustani exponent Ujjaini.

The Gujarati community in Kozhikode too has pitched in with cultural programmes for `Mailanji', as have the students of Providence College. The `Subhadinam' programme that day will feature actor Siddique and there will be a special programme on `Muslim songs' in feature films. This will be telecast at 9 a.m. There will be another special programme `Good Morning Gulf' at 10.05 a.m. that day.

The Malayalam feature film `Kutty Kuppayam' will round up Kairali's Bakrid special programme. The film will be screened at 2 p.m.
