Impressed by Jassi's strength

She is exactly what Manish Malhotra wouldn't want his heroines to look like. And yet, like the rest of the country, this suave designer could not escape the charms of small screen's now unusual big star "Jassi".

Her dressing sense may have been the talk of town for all the wrong reasons when the show started, but the simple and sweet Jasminder Walia seems to have impressed even the designers by her great show of strength and patience. And Manish seems to be one of them.

"I love Jassi and try to watch the show as much I can. In fact, I often ask friends about the developments in the serial in case I miss out on the episodes. As of now, I am really hooked on to know if Armaan is actually in love with her or faking it,'' the designer says.

And with Jassi all set for a makeover in the months to come, the designer in him is clearly up and alert as Manish admits that he is looking forward to seeing what kind of look she is given.

And while small screen's plain Jane has scored points, Manish says he is not too impressed with the queen bees of the top K-serials. "I think most of them dress over the top. Not only are they clad in heavy saris, but to top it they have heavy jewellery making them look really dressed up," feels the designer.

Now that he too is part of the television industry with his own programme -- The Manish Malhotra Show -- on Zoom TV, Manish ensures that all his celebrity guests don the right look.

And, well, you never know, Jassi might just be in the line of stars ready to share fashion tips on his show.
