'Neo' way to entertainment

Is it a radio? Or is it a recorder? Ah, it is a television! No, it is a computer.

Take a break and sit down to enjoy all these features in a single machine. Yes, it is HCL Beanstalk Neo, that was showcased at an exhibition of Digital Systems at ITC Grand Kakatiya Hotel in the city.

The system enables one to effortlessly tune to a favourite radio station or go channel hunting on television. The multiple features include recording facility, digital entertainment and the right work environment.

The sleek system comes with the CPU integrated in the monitor and it operates on a single power connection. Whether it is DVD or MP3, gaming tool or a web browser or video recorder, all are rolled into one. And it just weighs 13.5 kg.

All in one

"It caters to all entertainment needs. Given its features, we have called it New, Entertainment and Obsession (NEO)," says M. Gomathi Nayagam of the HCL.

He lists out the features. Integrated 7-in-1 media card reader, combo drive, 43.1 cm wide screen, wireless multifunction keyboard and wireless optical mouse, infrared remote and receiver, room rattling sound system, and the list goes on. Check for yourself. The exhibition at Grand Kakatiya is on till Sunday. And the price? Around Rs. 1.10 lakhs, but those planning to take home one at the exhibition gets a tax waiver of four per cent.
