Ramanan's telefilm on DVD
THERE is hardly a buzz these days about feature films being released in the CD or DVD format.
But unlike feature films, telefilms generally become unavailable even if they are excellent productions.
When a telefilm builds up an outstanding reputation, releasing it in the DVD format is the only way to make it accessible to a wider audience.
This is what Jaishree pictures has done for their Tamil telefilm Yar Andha Uravu, produced and directed by S.V. Ramanan, (who has also written the screenplay).
The film was telecast on Podhigai on Republic Day.
Avai Natrajan, Tamil scholar, released the DVD version and actor Y. Gee Mahendrareceived the first copy.
The cast includes Ravi Raghavendar, Shailaja, Sangeetha and Kovi Krishnamurthy.
The story is about a man who is sent to an old age home, after one of his sons mismanages the business empire built by him, leading to penury.
