New multiplex for East Delhi

Three more cinema screens were added to Delhi's fast expanding entertainment sector as India's largest cinema exhibitor, PVR Cinemas, opened its latest multiplex at East Delhi Mall in Ghazipur area of East Delhi on April 1.

Equipped with the state-of-the-art technology, the new multiplex has given film lovers of East Delhi and beyond a reason to cheer as they can watch their favourite movies at their favourite cinema without having to travel much. In the opening week, PVR Cinemas at EDM will showcase a host of movies like CU at 9, Zeher, Black, Socha Na Tha and Page 3. Further it has also introduced flexi ticket pricing ranging from Rs 70 to Rs 100.

Inaugurating the new multiplex, the executive director of PVR Cinemas, Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, said: "East Delhi is one of the fastest growing areas of Delhi. Therefore, it was an obvious move for us to tap this region. It has been our constant endeavour to provide PVR's patrons with the best in entertainment and to ensure that cinema viewing is indeed exhilarating and comfortable.'' The three-screen multiplex has a total seating capacity of 723 seats and is equipped with the latest THX-approved three-way surround sound system with real life sound effects and state-of-the-art projection facility with the latest Xenon-based technology. The stadium seating arrangement ensures unobstructed viewing from anywhere in the auditorium. Plush, ergonomically designed seats have been installed to provide flexibility and ultimate comfort to the guests. Wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling curved screens and digital sound will contribute in creating the ultimate movie viewing experience.

The multiplex -- which takes the total number of PVR screens to 39 -- has studio effect interiors and screens that continuously project movie-themed images. And station concession counters offer customers a wide selection of the traditional movie going fare of sweet and salted popcorn, hot dogs and soft drinks, as well as candy, nachos, fruit juices and bottled water.
