MOON SIGN

A senior astrologer says, "Celebrating marriages on Sundays is strictly prohibited". Is there a way out if the marraige has to be held on a Sunday?

S. Sethuraman, Thanjavur.

THE Sastras generally advise against Sunday for auspicious events. But the Sun, who rules the day, is chief of all the planets and is also a luminary not subject to waxing and waning.

In practice, a number of successful and happy marriages have been held on a Sunday. The important thing is for the date to be auspicious, for the Muhurtha Lagna to be properly chosen , and the knot tied at the auspicious time.

Good Date: Up to 7.00 p.m. on October 24.
