A target audience

S. SUBRAMANIUM

STARS from the small screen can now look forward to a different career once they have established their credit ratings on soap serials. The ever-popular SMRITI IRANI, better known to her millions of fans as "Tulsi", has decided to leapfrog onto the BJP bandwagon in order to preach politics. While she is clear on her reasons for joining the BJP — "I have always been impressed by them" — she is equally convinced that she will be able to balance her acting career and politics. While she is more than willing to do "whatever her party seniors ask", Irani said that she would like to focus on the upliftment of women, children and youth. Clearly she knows her target audience.
