Invasion Part 2

SHASHI ASHIWAL

IT seems to be the season to play host to guest artistes. TOBY STEPHENS, the bad guy in Bond's "Die Another Day", who has bagged a part in the multi-cultural film "The Rising" directed by Ketan Mehta, said that when he went through the script on being approached for the part of Capt. Wiliam Gordon, he knew "instinctively" that this would be an important film and "I wanted to do it". Here to finalise locations before the actual shooting commences, Stephens admitted that this was a first visit to the country. Typically he loves Indian food and has even managed to watch films like "Lagaan", "East is East" and "Monsoon Wedding". Undeterred by the language barrier, Stephens said he is now planning to learn some Hindi before shooting.
