A six

S. SUBRAMANIUM

WHEN KAPIL DEV writes, it is similar to his pattern of playing — Straight From the Heart. Not known to mince words, Dev has just released his autobiography and, to the delight of those who are close to him, he has put things in perspective just the way it should be. Thrilled at the huge fan turnout at the book launch in the capital, Dev in his characteristic good natured manner quipped that wherever a couple of friends got together it was a party. Of course getting back to the book he added that it was always "a tough task for people to talk straight but that is what I have done through this book. If somebody does not like it , let him go to hell." When pressed to write yet another one, Dev replied with wry humour that he'd first have to go to Oxford and then try again.
