Bryan in India

THE HINDU PHOTO LIBRARY

IT was almost a no-show. Diehard fans of pop singer BRYAN ADAMS cooled their heels till the organisers managed to smooth out all the hiccups. Once that was through, there was no stopping the hundreds who thronged the venue to hear their idol belt out some of his all-time hits - "Eighteen till I die", the evergreen "Summer of 69" and "Baby When I'm Gone". As Adams arrived in the city, he obliged fans by stopping and talking with them. However as overenthusiastic bodyguards tried to propel him forward, Adams throwing up his hands gently remonstrated: "Don't push me, don't push me." Adams said that he loved performing in India and the enthusiasm of fans here touched him "deep". In fact so overwhelmed was he by the response that after an encore he promised the Delhi audience that he'd ask his friends to make sure that they too come to the city and perform.
