Khushwant writes again
RAJEEV BHATT
WHEN KHUSHWANT SINGH stopped writing for the Illustrated Weekly of India, there were many protests. Luckily, he continued to write. At the recent launch of his book, Paradise and Other Stories, Singh announced: "I wrote this to get rid of the vitriol in my system, which had accumulated due to our collective fascination with irrationality."
He added that he was relieved to see only the Prime Minister's wife, Gursharan Kaur at the launch and not the Prime Minister because his presence would mean horrendous security details.
Coming from a lesser man this could be misconstrued but with Singh there is malice towards none.
