Her plan

ANU PUSHKARNA

HER mantra for success may not work with others, but for the moment, HBO head, SHRUTI BAJPAI, is convinced that her vision of "providing exclusive thematic movies on prime time" will "work wonders" for her channel. Given the extreme competition on TV, Bajpai said she had chalked out her programme to provide new themes every month with blockbuster films, many of which had not even been released in the country. While she would love to air classics, she is business savvy enough to realise that "there isn't a great market for them yet". Meanwhile no one seems to be complaining, since Gen-X gets what it wants. Maybe for HBO and Bajpai, it's a win-win situation.
