Chip of the old block

AFP

ANOUSHKA SHANKAR proved many years ago that she was much more than a pretty face or a great maestro's daughter.

Having established her credentials in the world of music, dabbling with all sorts of forms and fusion, Shankar once again showed that she was a chip of the old block at the Jazzmin festival.

In an electrifying performance, Shankar and her soul mates had an enthralled audience rooting for more. Asked if this was new for her, Shankar, with typical aplomb replied, "It's always wonderful to have an interactive audience. The fact that they appreciate the music and are ready for more speaks volumes."
