More on vaccines

This refers to the article "Avoid Typhoid: Get vaccinated" (Magazine, September 18). It is a timely article that will alert the public before the monsoon, as typhoid is one of "the pains after rains". Typhoid vaccine is available in two forms. One is injection form as mentioned in the article. Another one is a capsule "Typhoral". It is more economical than the injection. Those who are afraid of injection can take it. The dose is one capsule on days 1, 3 and 5. It should be taken one hour before meal. But it is useful only for those above six years.
