Hope in Afghanistan
Taran N. Khan's "Rediscovering Hope" (June 18) was an excellent article. She has analysed the pros and cons of American ventures in Afghanistan. Despite the American misadventure, the Afghans have managed to live in a difficult environment and still sown seeds of optimism in people's minds. A sociological change is in the offing in the country. Taran Khan's descriptions of the changing lifestyles of Afghan people brings cheer to many of us who take the "Right to lead a life of our choice" for granted as an undeniable privilege.
