Well deserved tribute
"Publishing history" (June 18) by Ramachandra Guha was an excellent tribute to Ravi Dayal. I would like to add that when he launched his one-man publishing house in 1988, there was one more publisher behind his venture the late J. Rameshwar Rao (Chairman, Orient Longman) who came forward to distribute his list when large publishing companies were in an acquisition mode. He had so much faith in Ravi Dayal that he left terms for distribution blank for him to fill a shining example of a big company supporting a one-man venture.
